Tropical Indigo – Suffruticosa

(Indigofera suffruticosa) – A perennial shrub native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, Tropical Indigo grows up to 3–5 feet tall. It features pinnate leaves with silky hairs and produces small pink to red flowers, followed by cylindrical seed pods. Historically significant for its use in producing deep blue indigo dye, this plant is a valuable addition to dye gardens and offers ornamental appeal.
